Events & Programs
Anticipated Projects and Programs:
- Provide funding and volunteers to organize neighborhood-based emergency preparedness centers.
- Coordinate an annual San Carlos city wide garage sale in October.
- Provide publicity and community outreach to encourage residents to complete Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training.
- Provide funding to Master Gardeners who volunteer time to maintain potted plants attached to light poles in the Laurel Street downtown area.
- Provide funding and volunteers to assist San Carlos Green in its programs to establish San Carlos as a model “green city.”
- Provide funding and volunteers to assist the Hometown Days Association in its annual community celebration.
- Provide funding and volunteers to initiate a “First Night” New Year’s Eve celebration as a community-builder for families in San Carlos and neighboring communities.
- Assist San Carlos service clubs (e.g., Lions, Kiwanis and Rotary) in functions and fundraisers for the community.
- Provide additional funding and volunteers for the established Healthy Cities Tutoring Program of 200+ tutors serving students at six local schools.
- Assist the San Carlos Trails Committee in attracting volunteers and funds for trail construction in the open space areas of San Carlos.
- Assist with other projects and programs similar to the above.
